Duties and Responsibilities
- Answering phones
- Schedule and coordinate meetings
- Maintain electronic and hard copy filing system.
- Monitor and order office supplies.
- Maintain MBE/DBE applications/certifications.
- Coordinate and maintain records for staff.
- Word processing for correspondence, reports, etc.
- Assist project managers with project billing, contracts, and correspondence.
- Provide coordination with accounting department.
Skills and Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum 5 years
- Computer skills and knowledge of relevant software including proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Adobe). Experience with Deltek a plus.
- Knowledge of administrative procedures and systems such as filing and record keeping.
- Knowledge of principles and practices of basic office management.
- Able to work in an environment with a variety of requests and multitask.
- Highly organized and efficient with strong attention to detail.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

CIVIL/SITE ENGINEER – MAITLAND, FLORIDA OFFICE
Brindley Pieters & Associates is seeking a candidate with a Civil/Site Engineering background to work in our Maitland, Florida office. Job Responsibilities
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering
- Florida P.E. License or ability to receive license within 6 months of hire
- 5+ years of Civil/Site Design experience
- Strong background in land development, drainage design, site grading, utility and stormwater management design, and permitting including strong communications skills and strong technical skills.
- Familiarity with local, regional, and State of Florida design standards and code requirements
- Knowledge of engineering design standards, principles of building design, facility systems, utilities, critical development infrastructure
- Ability to function with minimal supervision
- Understands client requirements and scope of project
- Draft and design in both AutoCAD2D and AutoCAD Civil3D
- Reads and interprets civil engineering drawings and building plans
- Reads and interprets maps and land surveys to note land grading, structures, and other
- factors that could impact the site plan
- Stormwater modeling using various programs (e.g. ICPR, MODRET, HECRAS, SWMM)
- Stormwater analysis using various programs (e.g. AutoCAD Stormtabs, Storm Sewer Analysis)
- Generate reports to clearly articulate and support various calculations and/or analyses
- Represents our firm, client, project and related parties in public forums and meetings
- Support construction services by reviewing test reports and/or conducting tests, generating an engineer’s cost estimate, evaluating as-built conditions
- Generate and/or provide assistance with as-built plan preparation for certification

ROADWAY ENGINEER – ATLANTA, GEORGIA OFFICE
Brindley Pieters & Associates is seeking a Roadway/Highway Design Engineer for our Atlanta office with a comprehensive understanding of principles, theories, concepts, and industry practices and standards and their application as it relates to transportation engineering. This position may also require work on project sites including investigation of existing conditions: traffic counts, field measurements, photographs, and field sketches, as well as field visits during construction to monitor progress, investigation of changed field conditions, and necessary performance of measurements for contract plan changes.
Responsibilities
- Coordinating with other disciplines to include bridge, environmental, survey, and traffic.
- Demonstrating time management skills.
- Maintaining effective communication with project team members and the client
- Participating in planning, cost development and management, and scheduling .
- Serve as a project manager, deputy project manager or task lead for major highway design projects.
- Attending and participating in client meetings, team meetings and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.
- Performing all aspects of engineering and design, including construction document preparation.
- Performing quality control.
- Performing design calculations.
- Performing drainage and MS4 design.
- Proposal preparation.
Requirements
- 5+ years experience required
- BS or MS in Civil Engineering
- Georgia PE registration is required or ability to acquire within 12 months of employment
- Previous design project management experience required
- Extensive GDOT plan development experience
- Proficiency with Bentley InRoads, MicroStation, and Microsoft Office required
- Working knowledge of Bentley OpenRoads Designer a plus

TRAFFIC ENGINEER
Brindley Pieters & Associates, Inc. is seeking a Traffic Engineer for the full-time position that is based at Florida’s Turnpike Enterprise headquarters located at the Turkey Lake Service Plaza in Ocoee, Florida. Duties and Responsibilities
- Responsible for signing and pavement marking plans review, development of project scopes, preparation of staff hour estimates and contract negotiations.
- Completes minor in-house traffic design tasks ranging from the preparation of concept plans to signed and sealed contract documents.
- Reviews design plans and provides / communicates clear and concise comments from the reviews to other consultants and other agencies.
- Responsible for Request for Information (RFI) requests during construction.
- Responsible for all review and approval of traffic design related shop drawings from the contractor.
- Involvement in multiple projects operating on multiple schedules.
- Works full time in the client’s office and must be able to communicate well with others.
- Represents the client at meetings, making decisions and recommendations on behalf of the client concerning traffic design issues and disseminating the results of the meetings to the appropriate client staff.
- May be required to speak in small/medium sized groups with other engineering consultants and as well as the clients to provide engineering direction to the team.
- Performs such other duties as the supervisor may from time to time deem necessary.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in field(s) of practice.
- 8+ plus years’ experience in Traffic Design, which must include significant experience in preparing Signing and Pavement Marking plans.
- Experience with Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) Design Manual, FDOT Design Standards, FDOT Traffic Engineering Manual and Manual of Uniform Traffic Control Devices, but not limited to.
- Knowledge of the operations and signing requirements of toll facilities and Express/managed lanes is preferred.
- Toll industry experience is a plus.
Skills
- Strong written, oral and listening communication skills in English; good public speaking ability.
- Must have the ability to lead and coordinate meetings, as well as work well in a team environment with other consultants in the client’s office.
- Must have excellent time management and organizational skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Excellent technical, analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills; organizational and time management skills.
- Knowledge of production support systems and personal computer proficiency, including, but not limited to Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Professional, MicroStation and AutoCAD.
- Must be able to travel within the state on a limited daily and overnight basis as needed basis to support the client.
- Strong understanding /history with FDOT clients and municipalities.
Professional Registrations
- Professional Engineer’s License in Florida required, or ability to obtain one within 6 months.
- Certified Professional Traffic Operations Engineer (PTOE) not required, but a plus.

Responsibilities

- Coordinate with Roadway Design, Project Management, Right-of-Way, Planning, Survey, Roadway Operations, Roadway Maintenance, and Roadway Construction Departments statewide.
- Review roadway plans, utility permits, and estimates.
- Coordination of utility conflict resolutions with engineers, contractors, other governmental agencies, other utilities, and the public.
- Execute utility agreements and utility work schedules.
- Encumber funds for utility and railroad agreements.
- Negotiate Design Consultant’s scope and staff hours.
- Review Utility Owner and Railroad invoices.
Requirements
- BA/BS preferred.
- Minimum 4 years’ experience performing utility coordination in accordance with FDOT, FHWA and AASHTO standards, policies, and procedures.
- Must have thorough knowledge of the FDOT plans production process and utility coordination process.
- Familiarity with FDOT One-Stop-Permitting.
- Must have thorough knowledge and experience with FDOT utility and railroad agreements and forms including Utility Work Schedules (FDOT Form 710-010-05); Utility Work Estimates (FDOT Form 710-010-06); UWHC Agreements (FDOT Form 710-010-21/22).
- Must be proficient in reading FDOT Roadway Plans, FDOT Utility Adjustment Plans, and plans for the installation of public and private utility agencies and owners (water, sewer, gas, communications, power, etc.).
